2013/09/07 Paris, France (REPORT)

The last time Paramore was in Paris was the 1st of April 2013 at la Cigale but I wasn’t there so it has been more than 4 years since I saw them (Supporting Green Day – 26th of June 2010).

I was waiting them to be back for so long that you must know how much I was excited. I wanted so bad to be in front of Hayley this time, so I arrived in front of the Zenith of Paris very early in the morning, with a friend, the sun didn’t rise yet. We were not the first ones but we were pretty confident because there were 6 different queues. Later some fans were playing some Paramore songs and singing along, I love the way we really feel like we’re kind of a family. Some friends rejoined us and 3 hours later the doors opened. All you have to keep in mind is “running as fast as you can.” And I did it!
I was in the second row, in the middle and the persons before me where kind of small so I was pretty relieved I didn’t wait this long for nothing. Then we waited an hour and a half, Fenech Soler were supporting Paramore and it was very great, for once, to have a band that plays some electro, they were really great and happy to be there.

Then we realized that in 30 minutes we will finally see them after years, months, hours of waiting, they turned off the lights and everybody was screaming when we began to hear Grow up notes, there were a black curtain and then some lights made the 3 Paramore bars appear. The curtain fell as Hayley began to sing, the setting was so beautiful, she made a make-up like Siouxsie and was wearing a tee-shirt from her band and a “grow up” leather jacket, they were all smiling, Hayley pointed and smiled
at me, it felt so great but the pit went crazy and my friends got pitched out far away from me, but I tried my best to keep my place as I was enjoying Fast in my car, one of my favorite song of the Self-titled album, it sounds so great in live.

Then That’s what you get, Decode, Ignorance and a break to catch our breaths back : I’m not angry anymore. I don’t know how but I found myself at the first row in front of Hayley, it’s so powerful. Then they played Now I was waiting for it because we told me that it’s so good in live and it’s true ! Next they played Daydreaming, then someone brought Hayley’s keyboard for When it rains and Last Hope, it was full of emotions. After this Taylor took back his Yukulele to play Holiday. A friend of mine and I were so
happy they put back Crush Crush Crush in the setlist, I like this song. Then Jeremy showed us better than ever what he can do with his bass on Ain’t it fun, this song brings so much happiness and I love how Hayley moves on this one. Next, it was The only exception and In the mourning/Landslide, and from my point of view, I was very disappointed Taylor and Hayley didn’t sit on the Paramore box as they used to do, it
was more intimate, but I was glad to finally hear it in live even if it was not unplugged, and Hayley was crying. Then they played the only song of the All we know is falling : Pressure, followed by one of the best song in live : Misery business, but kind of disappointed Hayley didn’t pick me up to go on stage because she often looked at me but never mind I wanted to see Part II from the crowd (one of my favorite Paramore song of all the time.) Like one of my friend said : it looks like it’s a voodoo or magical stuff, this song is so crazy, I looove it. Then they played the third interlude : Moving on, but I couldn’t really saw it because someone fainted next to me (a lot of persons did, probably because it was so hot in the room and some stupid security guards didn’t want to give us water).

But every good thing must come to an end and they said goobdye to us, Hayley said “merci beaucoup!” before she started to sing Still into you and all the fans threw balloons, Hayley gave some of them back to us before confettis. Jeremy gave his plectrums, Taylor his sticks and Hayley kept on saying “merci”, it looks like they were very blessed and happy. It was one of the best night of my whole life and I really want everyone to live the same, because we’re a family.
