The Star interviews Taylor York about upcoming show in Manila

Paramore is returning to the Philippines on February 15 with a concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Recently, Taylor York did a phone interview with The Star talking not only about the upcoming show but also about the album scheduled for release in April.

“(In our return concert), you’re going to expect everything we have, including songs that haven’t been heard for a while. It’s going to be a really energetic show. We just want people to go crazy,” said Taylor adding a few words about new music: “I think in every record, there has to be an evolution and this record is definitely very different for us,” he said. “I think we were being honest in (making) this record. It’s a new direction for us.” Moreover, York made an efford to describe the nature of Paramore as a band saying: “I think we are a band that goes with the flow. Our only real aspirations are just to connect with people that we’re not the first record is the one that’s self-titled. After a lot of changes we’ve been through in the last couple of years, we just want people to know we’re still around, and we’re more Paramore than ever before.”

Hayley Williams and Taylor York in a new Q&A for Rolling Stone

Hayley Williams and Taylor York met with Patrick Doyle from Rolling Stone Magazine and answered a few questions not only about their fourth LP, Paramore, about also about the current relations between the members of the band and the influence that the departure of Josh Farro and Zac Farro had on the new songs. “We were all friends, we grew up together, and that was the most disappointing… That sucked more than any of the band-professional career stuff,” shares Hayley. “I think there’s a future waiting for us. Let’s walk towards that instead of staying in this sort of high school drama,” addes Taylor. When it comes to the new album, Williams once again admits that the whole process of writing was something she was waiting for for a long time: “I think before this record the last time we sat down in a room alone and wrote a song together was when we were 12 and 13 years old. For the first time, I’m not angry on every song, I’m not spitting lyrics. I’m singing lyrics, and it’s nice.” How the album sounds? Doyle, who was able to hear some of the new songs reveals that there is a lot more pop influences. “I don’t think we knew that we were going to write super poppy songs or dance-y songs, but it just kind of happened. It was really scary, but it was really cool,” says Taylor. The full interview is posted below!
