Nearly a week ago Hayley Williams did an interview with an Australian Triple J talking with Bridget Hustwaite about her upcoming solo album. Besides discussing the meaning of Simmer, the creation of the project and the inspirations behind the sound, Hayley mentioned working with Zac and Taylor.
I never wanted to make music that was under my own name. Signing as a solo artist was such a failure to me as a kid. I was already in Paramore, there is so much to that story – she said. I feel very supported, I wouldn’t be able to put out this record if our friendships were in such a good place.
I was so nervous to tell Zac about it because he just came back to the band. I told him straight after I told Taylor – she said adding Zac was very supportive and he directed another music video, for another new track from Petals for Armor. The music video was shot in Los Angeles on February 12th.
That’s a pretty short playlist actually. I mean, at least by my standards – she said mentioning an inspirations playlist she published last week (click here). When Taylor and I started to talk about the production, and when Joey and I were writing songs like Sudden Desire it felt like a right thing to put up a playlist, try to paint a picture.
