Hayley visited SiriusXM Studios

On 7th of February Hayley Williams visited SiriusXM Studios in New York City and was a guest on their Debatable show. She discussed her newest release, Petals for Armor I. The interview is available below, here you see some pictures from the studio.

I am really impatient. The last four or five Paramore albums we were doing like long lead roll outs, so we sit on the album for six months. I didn’t want to do that. I am really really proud of the way that the songs progressed and I feel like they sort of mirror my progression or at least my journey through the last few years of my life – said Hayley explaining why she decided to release five songs ahead of the album. Simmer was one of the first songs to be completed but Cinnamon was the most experimental I’ve gotten thus far.

The band, we wanted to take the time off. I mean, we’ve been playing together since school, like 12, 13 years old. When we finished touring on After Laughter we kind of took inventory of ourselves and where we were at in our career and we decided that we wanna stop.

I am in the band with two people who are vastly talented. I am such a fan of Taylor and of Zac. I kind of sit back and let them do their thing when we are making a Paramore records and I do my thing. This was new, I knew I needed to try new things and give the feelings that I was feeling a different color, so I could experiment. It really started with my voice.

I think a lot I had to work on was abandoned issues. So much at such a young age and not feeling like I had steady ground, even though I had family members who loved me so much, I feel now that this is why I wanted to be in a band, because I needed to find my family. So I am just afraid of losing people.
