Hayley Williams surprised fans doing a long Instagram live to talk about her newly released Petals for Armor I EP and the upcoming studio album which drops May 8th. You can watch the entire thing in the player below but we listed down some of the most interesting points she made.
- there were only 15 songs written for the album and all 15 will be released on the album
- “Creepin” is about energy vampires and the way we handle ourselves with these people. While “Sudden Desire” is about lust, feeling you don’t want to feel because you know it’s not good for you and the other person. Hayley cannot wait to perform it live
- talked quite a lot about music industry, being in the band, working with men. She said she’s lucky because she was and is surrounded by people who care about her vision, listen to her opinions and let her express herself.
- talked about femininity, female characters from the movies she mentioned before “Simmer” came out.Hayley and Lindsey were working on content supporting “Petals for Armor” since May 2019. Videos, visuals, lyric videos…
- Tour dates for Petals for Armor are still in works. Some will be announced soon Hayley said in the Q&A. We’ve been told “soon” means before the album is out.
- Cinnamon choreographer, Tovaris Wilson agreed to record a tutorial, it will be released soon. Hayley said she was taking some dancing hip hop classes when she was 14 and never thought she’d use the skills in a music video, yet she isn’t sure about dancing live in concert.
- said there’s a remix of one of the tracks from “Petals for Armor I” featuring an artist she cannot believe worked with her.
