As the singer of one of the hottest band’s of 2013, according to Kerrang!, Hayley Williams talked to the magazine about “Ain’t It Fun” music video, Parahoy!, 2014 UK Tour and Back To The Future. The interview appeared in this week’s Kerrang Magazine. You can find this short interview in “read more” section. Following the latest updates, “Ain’t It Fun” will hit American radio stations on February 11th. The official release date of the music video is still unconfirmed.
WHAT ARE PARAMORE’S PLANS FOR 2014?
Hayley Williams (Vocals): “We’re gonna be busy! We just shot a video for Ain’t It Fun in our hometown, so that will be happening! And we’re hitting the road again, starting with trips to Australia and New Zealand!”
AND THEN THERE’S THE LITTLE MATTER OF…
“Of course, we’ll be setting sail for the Parahoy! Cruise! Tegan and Sara are joining us… and lots of other friends’ bands, too. I’ve heard we’re not too far from being fully booked! People are coming to spend their honeymoon with us, graduation trips, spring break…and some people are just coming because they’re in desperate need of a vacation. It’s going to be one big massive party. The rest of our 2014 is still being sorted out, but it’s already looking like it’s already going to be a lot of fun.”
HOW ARE YOU GOING TO PREPARE FOR YOUR SEA-BOUND ADVENTURE?
“Ballet Beautiful. It’s my workout programme of choice. I don’t like crazy weightlifting or running on a treadmill. Plus, this one if really easy to do while travelling, ‘cause I can access all the videos on their website. I’ve gotta tone up, because the damage we’re all going to do at all those buffets and restaurants with all that free food is going to be tragic. I need to at least start at a good place!”
YOU’RE HEADING INTO 2014 ON THE BACK OF A HUGE YEAR. WHAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE PAST 12 MONTHS?
“Coming back to London to play two nights at Wembley Arena [in September, 2013] was an incredible feeling. It was so good to play the new songs for so many people. That’s the feeling we were dreaming of while we recorded those songs in the studio, and it all happened.”
WHAT’S BEEN YOUR FAVOURITE THING SURROUNDING THE RELEASE OF PARAMORE SO FAR?
“Honestly, I’d say how much better friends we’ve become. It’s a little ridiculous to think how long we’ve been friends and how long we’ve played music together, yet only now we really understand how deep our friendship goes. I’m just thankful we didn’t give up. We would’ve missed out on so much.”
WHAT THINGS WOULD YOU HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY, GIVEN THE CHANCE?
“Did you ever see any of the Back To The Future films? When you start meddling with the past, it completely changes the course of your future. But, honestly, the three of us realise that everything we went through needed to happen. It made us stronger. All you can do in life is learn from the mistakes, the good and bad.. and keep on moving forward.”
SO, CAN WE EXPECT A UK VISIT FROM PARAMORE IN 2014?
“You know there will be! We’re not sure yet how it’s going to play out exactly, but we can never stay away from you lot for very long!”
